I spent this past weekend on the beach in San Juan, Puerto Rico digesting what I learned during a 3-day conference led by Red Elephant (November 20-22, 2013). The topic was: Stand, Speak, & Profit.
In your business it’s important to know what you STAND for. What is your purpose? It’s equally important to know the WHY. Why do you do what you do and whom will it benefit. What is your goal?
What I STAND for:
• I believe organizing is a main ingredient in your lifestyle. If you have an organized home/office (less clutter), you add time to your day, you become more efficient in your space, you increase your health & happiness (less stress), and you can find what you need when you need it.
• It also translates to your work habits and environment: Increased productivity increases your profits, you spend less time in the office, and you have more time to spend with family & friends.
WHY
• I want to show my clients (and the world) that organizing doesn’t have to be difficult or time consuming.
Here is what I learned this weekend:
- It’s crucial for you and your business to speak with clarity and from your heart. Truth is key.
- Commitment is essential. If you say you’re going to do something, then you must follow through.
- Use your intention (gut). It’s all inside of you and you need to believe.
- COMMUNITY! Surround yourself with a supportive community. It’s amazing to see yourself through someone else’s eyes.
- Let go of being perfect. You are your own worst critic; Perfection is just another form of procrastination.
- Take care of yourself. If you are not sleeping enough and feel run-down (always tired), you won’t be able to be present for your clients. You must make sure you are healthy.
- As time goes on, visions change. Be willing to move with your new vision and goals.
My time in Puerto Rico was spent with like-minded entrepreneurs. Life is all about the journey. Invest in yourself and take a chance on new opportunities. If you are clear on the reasons why you are starting a business, than you are on your way to success!

I love it Amy!
