Yesterday I attended Richard Oceguera’s “Powerful YOU” Intensive and was very happy that I did.

Richard is a Networking Expert, Professional Speaker, and Author (http://richardoceguera.com/). This day was to help me build a powerful business presence, be dynamic when I speak, and help me create a mindset that attracts an ideal client.

After registration and networking, the day included lessons and 4 sessions with other presenters whose message (and gift) was in alignment with Richard’s vision. They included: “know your numbers and how to charge for what you are worth”, “how to get your social media message across effectively”, “the importance of videos and how they resonate with your audience”, and “how your thoughts are influential and you can self-medicate through your own brainpower”. We even had 2 dance parties to liven up the room and make us feel great.

Richard believes in the theory of YES. Y – yes. Say yes to events, meetings, etc and get out there! E – energy. Move your body and mind, whatever that means for you. B e conscious of your energy and presence; start the day with the one thing you can control, your breath. S – smile. Be genuine; smiling radiates trust if it’s done wholeheartedly. Be a YES to new opportunities.

SANYO DIGITAL CAMERAMy favorite takeaway was who should be your #1 team player in your company: your heart. It’s your most wise team member. If your heart is not in it, then why are you in business.

The POWER is in you to make a difference. Your mindset is in complete control of your destiny, personally and professionally.

You just have to DO!

The other night, I watched the 2011 biographical film “The Iron Lady”, which is based on the life of Margaret Thatcher. The former (and first female) Prime Minister of Britain believed in the power of doing. To paraphrase, she said that too many people think and not enough DO. In life, we are here to DO, to make things happen. I believe this is true and is concurrent over many aspects in our lives; from how we conduct business, to what we say and how we interact with friends/family, to even how we arrange furniture. It’s in our ability to try new things and get out there, exactly what Richard believes.

One of Richard’s most helpful tools to creating a “powerful and proactive mindset” is the Mind Mastery. This tool displays our willingness to get out there and DO. It’s a simple exercise that takes you through 7 steps for who you are willing to be. Practicing on a daily level is best as our mind (and mindset) is a muscle we should exercise every day. Yesterday I was willing to be: Enthusiastic, Genuine, and Engaging. I was empowered by these three states of being and more present to the day and those around me.

Richard is such a dynamic speaker and by the end of the day he had you believing that you can be as well.

What is your first act of DOING?
