ID-1003939This past Tuesday, I gave a 10-minute presentation during my BNI (Business Networking International) Chapter meeting. I talked about organizing the one item we carry around with us everyday: OUR WALLETS & PURSES.

At this point, I directed the Chapter to pull out their wallets & purses. It became an interactive talk.

My first question was: Do you love your wallet? If you don’t love your wallet then you are simply sending the wrong vibes to the flow of your money. Is it worn, broken, or in bad shape? Your wallet goes everywhere with you. Create the energetic space to welcome abundance into your wallet. Buy a good wallet so your money will have a place to land. Focus on having a happy/healthy cash flow instead of a stressed out empty wallet.

Eliminate the unnecessary from your wallet. Let your wallet breathe & welcome cash easily. If you want your wallet to attract more cash then you must create the space… Throw out the clutter and old information stored in your wallet. Receipts should not be stored in your wallet: New $ doesn’t like to live with $ that was already spent. Receipts represent spent $. I use a pouch in my purse to hold my receipts. (Small Metallic Micro Mesh Pouch from The Container Store is what I use)

Basically: Simplify your wallet. Only keep the essentials of what you need in your wallet. Also, a good practice to start is to photocopy the items in your wallet (credit cards, license, etc) and keep a copy in a safe place (ideally a safe in your home) in case of an emergency. This way you don’t lose everything if it’s stolen/lost.

Suze Orman has said if you don’t respect your money then how can your money respect you. Keep your money notes tidy. The bills should fit easily. How you replace your coins & bills back into your wallet has a huge influence over the energetic relationship you have between (you, your wallet & your money). Those who were broke had totally disorganized and messy wallets; including scrunching up their money & throwing the bills into their purse/wallet.

Keep photos separate from your wallet. Photos distract from the intention of the wallet (to hold your money) & can carry your wealth to these people rather then into your life.

Color is known to affect our emotions & our moods. Thus, the color of our wallet can affect our spending habits. A few examples:

  • Black/dark blue represents your wealth & prosperity
  • Gold & purple are associated with luxury & wealth.
  • Red fires up energy (& success) – and can bring money in, however you might spend your money as fast.
  • Green represents growth & abundance.
  • Yellow/orange/brown (earth tones) can add stability to your finances.

A woman’s handbag is often a symbol of the self & where she carries her wealth & financial power. It’s also a collector of items that sometimes can be unhealthy. BOTTOM LINE: Keep it clean. Keep it off the floor (a man never puts his wallet on the floor). Buy a purse hangar. Treat your purse with respect.

Spend at least 5-minutes each week to clean out & maintain your wallet (and purse). Keep the energy flowing positively.

In closing: remember money attracts money. Always have something in your wallet but don’t spend it (many have suggested a lucky $2 bill, a $50 note, or a gold coin). An empty wallet feels empty.

The Chapter enjoyed my presentation and I think we all learned a few new things about own money energy, as I hope you will as well from this blog.

Good luck and let the money flow. Let me know what you think, please share your stories below.
