04.19.11-3-Reasons-You’re-Not-as-Productive-as-You-Think

In today’s busy workplace we are bombarded with multiple items on our to-do list, many meetings to attend, and not enough hours in the day to get it all done.

Here are three ways to increase your productivity throughout the day and this resonates at home as well.

3 tips to increase productivity

1) Labeling is so important! Take the thinking out of it. Physically labeling items is the best way to declutter your space. The more specific your labels are the easier you will find what you need & be able to file and find folders quickly.  A place for everything, everything in its place.” ― Benjamin Franklin

2) Work on something important when you wake up in the morning and wait to check your email until a scheduled time later that day. We put ourselves in a reaction mode when we check our inbox, instead of an action mode (and our own daily agenda). If something is urgent, people will find you.  “You may delay, but time will not.” ― Benjamin Franklin

3) Start each day fresh. One of my favorite practices is The Fast 15! I schedule this at the end of each workday; take 15 minutes to organize your desk and workload for the next day. Review your calendar & add important to-dos into your schedule. File items and folders no longer needed. Take out items needed for the next day so you’ll hit the ground running. A clean slate for tomorrow. Read more here: The Fast 15  “For every minute spent organizing an hour is earned.”Benjamin Franklin

I can recommend a few other tips as well, however the main to note of importance is to remain consistent. Consistency is the key for a successful work week.

Good luck and keep me posted below or on Facebook!
